Shooting The Last Summer!

I decided to be a part of my friend Jasmine's major film project. It was an awesome experience. I was production manager and Alex was a part of Art direction. Here are some of the photo's.

Me wishing I could sleep! It's tiring working 10+ hours a day!

Photos of Melbourne

I am back to posting Australia photos! I am trying to catch up on updating my blog. Here are some photos that I was taking around the city and at my apartment. It was my roommates 21st and we had way too many people in our small space. It was a fun party with nice people and I had a great time. There are also some pictures of Alex and I at the bar on the South Yarra river. It is our favorite place to get a drink. After that we went to an arcade to play video games!

Vegan Red Velvet Cupcakes!

Mold Wine and Pimms!

Getting our Stuff back in Auckland!

Alex and I were so stoked about getting our stuff back in Auckland! We celebrated like everyone does with Cali/Mexican food and margaritas. We also got to watch the Olympics.

My beautiful backpack!!

My artistic picture of chips and margaritas.

I didn't want to leave Auckland and contemplated living on this bench. haha.

We went to see The Dark Night Rises and saw this poster!

Taupo to Whitianga.....

So at this point of the journey something happened. After that lovely toga party where we stayed up until 3am and had to be on the bus at 7am, things were a bit tiring. We stopped at a backpackers restaurant to have food and coffee and were on our way up to Whitianga. It wasn't until an hour after leaving the backpackers restaurant that I remembered I had left my backpack there. This backpack contained the following:

Both Cameras
Both Wallets
Both Passports
Both books
and a beanie.

So yeah I basically lost all of our important shit. It was one of those moments where you realize that you are seriously fucked. So I went up the driver and borrowed her phone to call the place. The ladies who worked there had OUR STUFF!!! This was good, the problem was getting it back since we couldn't turn around. After hours of deciding we decided to have it express mailed to Auckland at the MAGIC BUS location so we could pick them up. The trouble was that for three days we would have no money. I think we had a total of 30 in pocket. We were smart and booked our Hostel early and payed in full so we had a place to stay. So for three days we didn't have our cameras and had to buy a disposable camera that I have not yet developed. So moral of the story is don't forget your shit.

We finally got our stuff the day before we left, but who knows what would have happened. I was fine staying in New Zealand. I could have been a farmer, or just chilled at Hobbiton.

Taupo TOGA party.

There was a toga party at the hostel we were staying at and it was really fun! By the end of the night I gave up on my toga and wore regular clothes. It's really hard to dance in a Toga!

Taupo

So we went back to Taupo and finally were able to take pictures of the massive lake. By the time we got there it was night so here are some of the photos we took before it got too dark.

Tui Brewery

So nothing starts the morning like a fresh cold Tui. We arrived at the Brewery around 10am or so and got a little tour of the place and had beer. I was too tired for beer in the morning but Alex took advantage of the fact that this might only be the acceptable time and place for a 10am beer. I had some of hers and it was really good, but I wanted to stick to coffee because I wasn't feeling too well. If I had felt better I would have had a beer. It's a bummer that Tui is only sold in New Zealand. We also got to mess around with a billboard. "We're Canadian" is a joke that we had, because Rachele who is from Canada would say she was American when she was annoying people and we would say we're Canadian when we asked people too many questions.
