Rotorua

Rotorua is an interesting place. It's known for its thermal activity. The appeal of this city is its Geysers, bubbling mud pools and hot thermal springs. Its nickname is Sulphur City because of the hydrogen sulphide emissions which gives the city a ROTTEN EGGS smell. Trust me on this, if you have sensitive nose this is not a place you want to stay at for more than one day. It was definitely an interesting experience, but I could not live there.

Alex was the only one who didn't mind the smell! She is crazy!

I had to plug my nose like this for the majority of the time when we walked around because it smelled so BAD! Alex found it funny.

People enjoying the thermal hot springs, even with the bad smell. Apparently the water is good for your skin.

This is the hostel we stayed at! This was a really nice hostel, its called YHA Rotorua! So if you are ever backpacking stay here. They have a nice clean kitchen, clean bathrooms and rooms.

Enjoying a cupa tea!
