St. Patrick's Day

Fun Night

St. Patrick's Day here in Melbourne is pretty huge. There were tons of places to drink at and listen to Irish music. I decided to go to a Pub on Chapel Street. It is near my school in Prahran. The only thing that sucks about the location, is that you have to keep track of time because the train stops going at 1am. It was a really fun night!

This is the Pub Alex and I went to and hate to wait 30 minutes to get in because it was so crowded. Totally worth it!

Alex is really happy to finally get a beer!

This was the less crowded area in the 2 story bar. I had video of this guy dancing with random people but it was too dark to upload. He was sooooo drunk. He kept running into people. There was also a band setting up at the time and they were about to go on.

I love Alex's face in this picture. She looks really drunk.

There was an Irish band outside the pub entertaining the people who were in line to get into the pub.

After the pub, Alex and I decided to go look for food. After 30 minutes of walking we found a mexican place ( and by mexican food, I mean Chipotle style). Alex decided to get the picante sauce and it was too hot for her.

Best Picture EVER!

Moomba Festival

Melbourne's Labor Day Festival

Melbourne has an annual festival called Moomba. Basically it is a day where people celebrate Melbourne. There were wakeboarding, skiing and skateboarding contests. They also had rides and concerts all throughout the river in the city. My favorite part were the Trapeze people!

Brighton Beach

Brighton Beach

It has been really hot in Australia, so I decided to take a trip to this beach. It is known for the shacks that are right on the sand. The water was really warm and very clear.

I was wondering why the Black Swan had that number on its neck, but there was a huge flock of them so I think its some sort of animal research thing.

This was so cute! Even the dogs were too hot so they decided to swim.

Alex and I were having fun making shadows on the shack, she is the one who is kicking me.

Alex was sad that there were no waves to surf, so she decided to surf the shack.

It was 8pm and people were still staying in the water because it was so hot.

Healsville Sanctuary

Healsville Sanctuary

I went on a tour to this sanctuary and it was really awesome! The only thing between me and the Kangaroos was two wooden pillars and a rope in between them. This may be a long post because Alex took a lot of pictures of the animals.

Koala's! They are so cute. They sleep 22 hours of the day and they eat Eucalyptus leaves. They are also very fierce because they have huge claws.

I asked the tour guide, how come the Kangaroos never jumped over the rope, she simply replied "They are too lazy to." I didn't really believe her, until I saw them just relaxing like this.

Since I couldn't really touch a Kangaroo, I decided to hug this one :)

platypus's are my favorite Australian animal. Unfortunately the camera didn't really show any good picture of them, but you can google how cute these creatures are.

Bats! These bats actually fly around Melbourne at night.

Kookaburra

Wallaby

Emu, cooling himself off because it was 90 degrees outside.
